THE BEGINNING
Before there was Good Boy Buster, there was a hound named Buster.
He came into my life during a time when I was searching for direction. Like many people, I was trying to figure out what came next and what truly mattered. I thought I was giving a rescue dog a second chance.
Looking back, he was giving one to me.
Buster changed the way I looked at life. He reminded me to slow down, appreciate the little things, spend more time outdoors, and find joy in the moments most people overlook.
More than anything, he reminded me that purpose isn't always something you chase.
Sometimes it quietly finds you.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Inspired by everything Buster had given me, I started a company called Beards & Barks. The vision was simple: build a community around quality products, good people, and giving back to the dogs that bring so much into our lives.
For a while, that's exactly what it was.
But as the company grew, I realized something had changed.
The focus slowly shifted toward building the business instead of building the community. There was always another product to launch, another goal to reach, another sale to chase.
Somewhere along the way, I had drifted away from the reason I started in the first place.
That's when I found myself asking a question I couldn't ignore anymore.
WHAT'S YOUR PURPOSE?
At first, I thought I was asking it about the company.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized I was asking it about myself.
If my purpose was simply to build another business, then I had already accomplished that.
But if my purpose was to build something that genuinely made a difference, then I knew I had more work to do.
So I made one of the hardest decisions I've ever made.
I closed Beards & Barks.
Not because I stopped believing in the idea.
Because I believed in it enough to start over.
Good Boy Buster wasn't created to replace what came before.
It was created because I finally understood why I started in the first place.
WHY GOOD BOY BUSTER EXISTS
Every day, incredible hounds wait in shelters and rescues for someone willing to give them a chance. At the same time, there are families ready to open their homes, but that first step can sometimes feel just out of reach.
Between adoption fees and the supplies every new dog needs, getting started can feel overwhelming.
We believe that shouldn't be the reason a good hound goes without a home.
Or a good family misses the opportunity to welcome one.
That's why Good Boy Buster exists.
Not simply as a brand.
But as a community.
A community that understands the greatest investment isn't measured in dollars.
It's measured in commitment, patience, and loyalty.
